🎤︎︎ this private meditation was inspired by a message I received from one of my paid subscribers:
”My main issue is anxiety….overwhelmed…I feel like a failure every day and I worry I am not liked…It feels chaotic. I want to quit every day but don't want to hurt my reputation. I wake up in the middle of the night with waves of anxiety that I am not enough and am not focusing properly.”
i hear you.
sit with me for a moment….
your body’s begging to stop.
but you keep going.
slowing down is dangerous,
rest is lazy or impossible.
you’ve been taken over
by a part of your mind…
that’s trying to help you.
sit with me.
we’re not going to “fix” your anxiety.
(good luck with that anyway — that never works)
instead, let’s make friends with it.
place your hand on your anxiety.
repeat after me.
hello,
i feel you,
you’ve got a lot of you plate, huh?
you’re not alone in this.
tell me all about it,
i have all the time in the world.
start at the beginning
how long have you felt this way?
stillness isn’t laziness.
it’s trust.
the first step to trusting your Self
is to slow down and listen
to who is trying desperately
to grab your attention right now.
this is what anxiety is —
a part who is frantically
waving its arms,
screaming without words,
hoping you’ll notice,
begging you to care,
to attune
to what’s actually happening
inside your skin.
this is what anxiety is.
a part who loves you.
a part who needs you.
a part who’s been waiting
for you to finally notice
and a part who has almost lost hope
but will die trying to getting your attention.
you’re going to blow its freaking mind
(into sparkles of joy and relief)
when you show up and calmly say,
i’m here now.
you don’t have to do this alone anymore.
